This is a good-looking, low-cut children’s walking boot with a waterproof lining, which means kids should want to wear it and it should be stylish and comfortable enough straight from the box. The low ankle makes this a relatively natural upgrade from a training shoe, while the style doesn’t shout about its hill tendencies. The hill cup is nice and supportive, while the sole has good stiffness for rough paths. The outsole lug pattern is reasonably aggressive too and ideal for easier terrain. The antimicrobial footbed will be a welcome feature too, as it should keep the smell of sweaty feet at bay. Use this in the valley and it should be ideal for general outdoor activity including walking, mountain biking and generally get out and about in the mud. But boots with a leather upper with less stitching would be more durable that this relatively delicate upper. The toe box is not quite as protective as some others, so this is not the best for rockier terrain. Likewise that low ankle cuff is not the best for tackling the roughest of paths. Underfoot the sole lug pattern is good, but more stiffness and a more aggressive pattern of lugs are to be found in some other boots.

Upper: suede leather and textile, waterproof lining
Sole: UltrATAC sole, EVA cushioning, antimicrobial footbed
Sizes: 13-6
Weight: 544g (pair, size 13)
Made in Far East

Verdict: Buy it if you want an excellent waterproof shoe for valley walks, forest trails and easier hill paths.
