The North Face Dhaulagiri GTX 2009

£115.00

LFTO rating rating is 2
Owners' rating rating is 4

The North Face Dhaulagiri GTX weighs 1548g (pair, size 11); suede leather upper; Gore-Tex waterproof lining; good cushioning underfoot; Vibram sole unit; good boot for easier terrain. But minimal stiffness in sole and toe box so not as impressive as hyped-up appearance suggests; pricy; sole lugs not as aggressive as some others.

Verdict: The North Face Dhaulagiri GTX is an average trekking boot that fails to meet performance suggested by the price and styling.

Having read the review by Trail magazine I'm actually quite surprised with how low this boot has been scored and have a number of points to add: - How can the female version of the same boot score so highly? 4 stars vs 2 stars - I have worn the boots on numerous occasions, most recently to walk Snowdon. Impressed with comfort, breathability and the lightness of the boot. Not so impressed with the grip but performed well in dry weather. Im not sure how they will manage wet and slippery conditions. Price: £115 is the RRP and a little misleading as reputable online dealers sell the same boot for £88 (Almost a £30 saving). Overall verdict: Good quality, lightweight boot, very comfortable and can't wait to use them again soon.
