These are a classic walking boot, with as little stitching as possible to affect the leather’s natural water repellency. There are only a couple of stitched sections towards the rear of the boot, leaving the front clear of any weak spots. The leather itself feels nice and thick, giving plenty of support all over and good protection for feet. There is good reinforcement around the heel and the toebox has some extra stiffness. Fit is traditional Italian – more suited to those with narrow feet. Actually, if you have particularly skinny ankles these may not suit, with a lack of a deep-set heel lace loop to help keep your heel in the back of the boot. They are a little heavy too.

These boots were comfortable staright from the box and required little breaking in. Though a bit heavy, the comfort they provide makes this more bearable. As the first pair of leather boots that I have bought for some years I am very pleased with them
