Raichle Mt Peak XT

£170.00

LFTO rating rating is 5
Owners' rating rating is 4

A frequent Trail favourite 3-4 season boot, the Mount Peak XT now gets a full rubber rand, to make it even better for the winter walker than a year ago. The boot is based around a quality leather upper that is not one-piece, but it has minimal stitching. There is a Gore-Tex waterproof lining too. The double tongue of last year’s model has been replaced with a simpler single tongue without any loss of comfort. The ankle cuff is high and the underfoot sole unit is a little more aggressive than some. The sole stiffness is ideal for crampons for snow and ice or for walking on snow, rock and rubble. But there is not a lot here to complain about. Some may prefer a higher-volume fit or a closer and more precise fit for scrambling or mountaineering. Some others are better if you want a boot more dedicated to scrambling or mountaineering.

Upper: full-grain leather
Lining: Gore-Tex Waterproof lining
Sole: Vibram Backpacking Rolling II advanced sole
Sizes: 6-13
Trail fit profile: forefoot- medium; heel- medium; volume- medium; length- medium
Crampon compatibility: B1
Weight: 1984g (pair, size 11)
Made in Romania
Stores in UK: 80

Verdict: Definitely a good choice if you want a top-quality boot for year-round hill and mountain walking as well as use on snow.

Had these for a few years. They are a great fit and my feet were comfortable from day one, although as I've worn them in, they have become even more comfortable. They need to be laced as tightly as possible though. The upper is bomb proof, The goretex lining hasn't let me down and the grip on the outsole is brilliant.Well worth a look if you're in need of a new pair of 3/4 season boots
