A reasonably broad design that enables you to get a good stable fit. Comfortable from the off with plenty of padding around the tongue and ankle cuff. Enjoyable to wear on easier walks, but way too soft in the midsole for higher up the mountain. Good waterproofing, though, and a nice deep tread.

Verdict: Up there with the best of the real budget-end boots, excelling on lower-level walks (especially on softer surfaces) even when worn all day. Great value for money, too.
