The New Balance 1520 multi-activity shoe weighs 1028g (pair, size 11); durable upper of synthetic and suede; Gore-Tex waterproof lining; good sole stiffness for a variety of activities; good cushioning; very good for biking. But lug pattern on sole not ideal for mud; others have better toe profile and sole stiffness for scrambling.
Verdict: The New Balance 1520 is a good biking shoe, but others are better for scrambling or general walking.
