Millet Bouthan/Sikkim 2010

£200.00

The Bouthan/Sikkim is a superb mountain boot from Millet. It is built around an almost one-piece leather upper, with just a small additional panel down the sides of the tongue. So this is incredibly durable, as there is so little stitching. There is also a Gore-Tex lining for waterproof protection and a full rubber rand to add further durability. Inside you get a leather lining around the ankle and tongue. The outsole is a good stiffness for walking above and below the snowline as it allows a good natural walking gait while retaining enough stiffness to perform well on snow. The outsole lug pattern is good too for general walking as it has a decent set of deep lugs to bite into soft ground and snow. This is an excellent boot that is ideal for a wide variety of general mountain use. But there are some lighter options than the Millet Bouthan/Sikkim if weight is a priority, although that would mean choosing a boot without a rubber rand. There are lower priced-options out there if you can forgo the one-piece leather upper for a less durable fabric option. Other boots are a little better for a more climbing-orientated performance too.

The Millet Bouthan/Sikkim is a superb all-round mountain boot for general hill and mountain walking on mud, scree, rock, slush and snow.
