The relatively soft sole, coupled with the all-fabric upper, immediately give these the characteristics of a trainer, albeit a slightly rugged one. They feel light and airy and so are great for a walk on a warmer day. However, that softness does tend to become a bit of a problem on any terrain apart from generally sturdy and level ground. On steep grassy descents, the fabric upper simply couldn’t handle the weight of the foot inside. Having said that, on level path and good ground they are fine, with a decent tread pattern that grips in softer conditions if need be. The very lightweight construction suits them to warm conditions too.
