Meindl Air Revolution Lite

£169.00

LFTO rating rating is 5

These Meindl boots fall into the stiffer, more robust category of fabric footwear, attempting to be a viable three-season boot. They have a really stiff sole and they did feel heavy on the foot – a sense exacerbated by their stiffness. The tread pattern has very deep lugs that really improve grip in grimy fields and on hillsides. There is an excellent amount of padding throughout the entire top section, and particularly around the ankle and tongue. While the boots are stiff, on hard ground the padding in the midsoles helps to smooth out the bumps and make walking on road sections that bit easier.

I bought these as a replacement for some KSB 3's which had bit the dust after 10 years of use and I haven't been disappointed. I wore these straight out of the box for the Kinder Trespass route with Supafeet Green insoles and thorlo trekking socks. No hotspots or blisters and my feet were dry and comfortable. The following day I added a thin pair of coolmax liners as the boots felt slightly loose. Day two was a loop out over the moors to the East of Ladtbower Reservoir. Again dry feet and no blisters!!! In summary, I'm very glad I went for these over the Salomon Quest. They are a well made robust boot that are superbly comfortable. I paid £158 for mine from Go Outdoors in Bedford.
