Haglöfs Vertigo GT 2011

£115.00

LFTO rating rating is 5

The Haglöfs Vertigo GT is an extremely durable shoe with modern outdoor styling. Like all Haglöfs footwear the Vertigo comes fitted with a Sole footbed, which is a stiff moulded footbed that will tend to provide more arch control than a conventional floppy layer footbed fitted to most shoes and boots. This footbed can also be moulded to your foot by following the instructions on the box. The shoe itself is also very supportive with a stiff heel cup, upper and sole, and the toe box is also well-protected. The outsole lug pattern is reasonably aggressive and there is good cushioning too. The laces extend well down the foot for a precise fit, which will suit climbers in particular. A waterproof lining is hidden inside the leather and fabric upper.  But the Haglöfs Vertigo GT is comparatively heavy, so it’s no good if you want fast and light footwear. A dedicated climbing shoe is better for climbing. If you don’t need the extremely tough construction then you can save money and even gain comfort with something lighter and more flexible. You are paying for a posh footbed, which your feet may not need.

Upper 1.6-1.8 nubuck leather, synthetic and rubber; Gore-Tex waterproof lining
Sole Haglöfs Flex frame
Sizes 40-48 (men’s); 36-42 (women’s)
Weight 1224g (pair, size 11)
Made in China
Stores in the UK 25

As an all-round multi-activity shoe the Haglöfs Vertigo GT is excellent – indeed, it won Trail’s ‘Best in Test’ accolade; but others have benefits for running, climbing or travelling light and saving cash.
