These three-season boots from Blacks are low-cut and feel great on first try, due, in no small part, to the well-padded ankle cuff, heel and tongue. They don’t disappoint in action, either, and are enjoyable to walk in. The only downside of the low ankle cuff is that they feel less supportive than most on uneven ground. The Kilimanjaro lacks any real midsole stiffness and is therefore best suited to easier, low-level walking or softer ground. It’s very light though, and the Sympatex lining keeps puddles and wet grass where they should be. The outsole is definitely at its best on softer going.
