These boots come in wide and narrow, as well as standard, fittings which is great for peoople like me with wide feet. It is disappointing that I was not told this by any of the retailers I visited and, when I asked about the wide fitting, I was told that they would be a special order and I would have to take the boots as ordered even if thy were not comfortable. (So much for all the retailer advertising telling us how keen they are to fit us with properly fitting boots!) But I did finally manage to buy a pair in a wide fitting nearly 2 years ago now. (An email to the distributors received a very quick response with a list of likely retailers.)
The boots are great - the most comfortable I have had in over 50 years of buying boots - and have been lasting well! The absence of a rand is actually a bonus for those who have wide feet because the leather adapts more easily to the foot shape.
The only downside: when done up tightly at the front, the leather joining the sides of the tongue to upper can dig into the toes where it doubles over, something I solved by putting a spacer bar between the bottom pair of eyelets.
