Excellent for high mountain use with a high and stiff ankle cuff that offers plenty of support and hefty protection at the toe and heel. The midsole is great for uneven, hard ground but perhaps a little too stiff for easier going, and the outsole provided good traction on most surfaces. The lacing is excellent, so easy to get just the right tension around the foot and ankle. Did an excellent job of keeping water out, even on particularly wet mid-Wales ground, but felt a little warmer than most. Their biggest weakness is the weight, which is fine high up the mountain but perhaps a little too much for easier going.

I have had these boots for over a year now and have been very impressed with them. They are comfortable and support my feet and ankles well on rough terrain, providing excellent grip on all the surfaces I have used them on - from Snowdonia scree to CMD slabs to Brecon bog. Very waterproof and weather resistant, they have dealt equally well with rain, sleet (and slush!) and snow. The only fault I can find with them is that they can be a bit too warm but once you acccept this and take good care of your feet, this can be managed easily. In short, an excellent pair of boots.
