The Atlantis is a very sturdy boot, with Asolo’s new Active Heel Support which cradles the heel and offers really good shock absorption. The toe box is a little on the narrow side, but an excellent lacing system should allow for a comfortable fit for all but the widest feet. The well-placed locking eyelet also helps by keeping feet firmly in place, and the high, supportive ankle cuff will prevent sore ankles. They’ve got a fairly stiff midsole, and reassuringly supportive upper, making them a great choice for mountainous terrain. Out in the hills, they performed impeccably, with a rugged sole that gripped well, especially on rocky surfaces. The Gore-Tex uppers are waterproof and breathe well so feet stay cool and comfortable. An excellent boot.
