This camping stove burns most fuels; well-made; very sturdy; wide pan supports; excellent windshield included; extremely fast boil. But seems prone to flaring; heavy pump; expensive.

Boil time 2min 4sec

Weight 354g (+102g pump)

Verdict  Buy it if you want to be able to use a variety of fuels and require stability and performance.

This stove is designed to be taken off the beaten track, where fuel supply isn't a straight forward issue, and where reliability is of equal importance. This is a piece of kit thats design is equal to its proposed function. Sturdy, very well made and ultimately incredibly reliable whilst offering a gamut of fuel options. Simple field maintanence makes this a stove to take anywhere were you'll be relying on your gear for prolonged periods of time, especially in the more remote regions. As for flaring, once you're used to priming it, you should have no more worries. On top of the above you've got good simmering ability for the more adventerous eaters or a damn fast boil time for those who take a simpler approach to meal time! So to its weight, for what your getting, its very good. Its supposed to be sturdy so it'll never be the lightest, as with all kit its a compromise. In my opinion a negligable one. And the price, well worth every penny.

I've used this stove on many trips now and it has performed perfectly. A slight adjustment to the position of the flame spreader was required to get it to simmer properly other than that no issues at all. When using the stove with gas it works as well as any other gas stove I've used witha good range of control and a healthy output. In my opinion the stove is best used with coleman fuel, it is very powerful and can produce drinks from snow or ice quickly. On longer trips I prefer to cook real food found locally and this is where these types of stove come into their own a Litre of coleman fuel will easily last for a week or more of cooking rice and pasta dishes and the ability to simmer means that you can cook casseroles and stews as well. The stove requires a little skill to use but a few times lighting it at home will soon teach you to have a bit of patience and allow the stove to preheat properly before opening the valve fully. It has been commented that the pump is heavy and it is, a real bonus to my mind and one of the reasons why I bought this stove, having broken 2 MSR pumps in the past. The ability to bleed off the pressure in the fuel bottle by simply turning it over is pure genius. This stove is no lightweight but it is a stove you can rely on when things get rough. Steve D

I used one of these wild camping in Iceland for two weeks - Not a single problem with it. It always lit first time, boiled water extremely quickly and able to simmer well (albeit a little on the vigorous side). 2 litres of fuel was more than enough to cook for two people for both weeks. I would thoroughly recommend it.
