Markill Peak Ignition

£44.00

LFTO rating rating is 2
Owners' rating rating is 3.5

This camping stove is very light thanks to titanium components; packs very small; good flame control;  piezo ignition. Flares a little with brand new canister, but settles down.

Boil time: 3min 7sec

Weight: 92g

Verdict:  Buy it if you want a very lightweight stove with good performance.

I have owned this stove for about 5 years and it is a regular companion in the mountains. It is very small and very light. Mine lives inside a titanium mug (Aplkit Mytimug), along with a 100g gas cannister, some foil for a windshield and some tea and coffee, making the ultimate compact brewkit. The stove itself works very well. Quick to light with minimum flaring. It has a bit of a small heatspot, as with all stoves this size, but works well and boils water quickly without fuss. At £50 or so these aren't cheap, but I got mine for under £25 in a sale! Great bit of kit! Jell

Seems an unusual rating when the words are positive? I got one of these earlier in the year. I usually steer clear of ignition on stoves but you you have to try new things, and I have discovered ithat it's a marvellous wee thing. Tiny pack size, easy operation and admin, good flame. It's now my number one choice.
