The Trail Lites bring anti-shock to the £40 price range and it actually works rather well – although it can be easily switched on and off accidentally, which is a nuisance. They are long poles that can be extended to over 135cm at a push, but this does give them a rather lengthy pack-down size of 69cm. The grips feel good in the hand and extend down the shaft slightly, which can be useful on steep traverses; and the straps are well-padded too. Contenders in the value for money stakes.
