Timex Expedition WS4 2009

£150.00

LFTO rating rating is 5
Owners' rating rating is 0

The Timex Expedition WS4’s fantastic widescreen means you can get a great deal of info at a glance. It’s surprisingly comfortable and intuitive. The ‘analogue’ watch in the top corner turns into a north-pointing compass needle. And there’s also room for the bearing in degrees and in compass points. It’s brilliantly thought out. But it has a slightly over-the-top appearance, and that might be enough to put you off. There are less garish colours available but the width is actually the same as an average watch’s diameter.

Screen size 38x25mm
Weight 86g
Features altitude range -400m to 9000m, temperature range -10 to 50 deg C, water-resistant to 50m

Verdict: The Timex Expedition WS4 is practical and well thought through, with everything you need. It’s less technical than the Suunto watches but easier to use, and possibly a better choice for those who don’t like reading instruction books. It won the ‘Best in Test – Most Intuitive’ award.
