Techtrail Axis 2009

£165.00

LFTO rating rating is 3
Owners' rating rating is 0

With the Techtrail Axis in Time mode you have three viewing options for extra info: Weather, Barometric Pressure and Date. Unfortunately quite a bit of the information overlaps and there’s no altimeter and time offering. The twisting bezel could be useful in Compass mode – but it is quite hard to twist and would be almost impossible to use with gloves on in winter.  The buttons don’t feel as positive as others on test and could be less easy to use on the hill, especially in winter with gloves on, and the bezel is an issue. Information could be more logically presented.

Screen size 27mm diameter
Weight 56g
Features altitude range -702m to 9158m, barometer, digital compass,  temperature range  -10 to 50 deg C, water-resistant to 30m, weather forecast

Verdict: The Techtrail Axis is an excellent watch that does everything you need it to do on the hill, but it does feel like it could do with a few design tweaks to make it stand out from the crowd.
