Ultimate Direction makes a wide range of running packs with many unusual design features, and likewise this hydration system is unique. The Kicker valve mouthpiece is designed to be easy to drink from without leaking. The feeder pipe is insulated to prevent freezing in winter (a common problem with feeder pipes). The rolltop closure works well to allow easy cleaning and filling. But I found that the bite valve would leak under the pressure of a 20kg load when the red mouthpiece was knocked by accident. The taste of the water was not as good as some either.
