This all-terrain buggy looks good, it’s reasonably light but very well-made, and it’s the only buggy we tested that can be easily converted into a tandem two-seater (with the optional extra seat). Its storage basket is capacious and well-protected from trail crud, and its foot brake is easy to operate and very positive. The handle is extremely comfy, and your child may enjoy the extra feeling of security given by the front bar. But the E3 isn’t as much of an off-roader as you’d hope. Its manoeuvrability in fixed wheel mode (the ease with which you can lift the front wheel and change direction) is the worst we looked at, and it’s this which really stalls the E3’s progress up the rankings. It makes dicing round obstacles or changing course a real pain. Folding requires two hands, and there’s too much play in the front wheel in fixed-wheel mode.

Tested weight: 11.2kg
Ages: 0-4 years
Colours: black, charcoal, navy, red, sand, orange, apple
Handle height: 38in
Folded size length: 37in
Width: 24in
Depth: 16in

Verdict: Buy it if your idea of off-roading doesn’t go much beyond canal towpaths.
