Richard Bacon Style Help

Help.

My mrs,who is normally a wonderful person has washed my gortex gear with Persil

I went Caving on the weekend and got absolutly caked in muddy clay, i left my dirty stuff in a pile at home, on returning home monday night my stuff was clean.

what if anything can i do to repair her damage ?

Should i wash them again without any detergent, and then wash them with tech wash and tx direct.

Or should i make her fork out £400/500 on replacement kit.

Help

Well unless it was a hot wash it might not have damaged the membrane, maybe not done it any good and shortened the lifespan, but then that can't be proved, does she use fabric conditioner also? That might not be good.

Anyhow, personally I'd do what you suggest, wash in clean water to remove any residues, wash in tech wash to get it squeaky clean, then tx direct it.  But then I don't do the washing because my hubby does it all, however I don't let let him reproof stuff; I do get to clean out the machine and the tumble drier.

Thank your wife for being so thoughtful as to wash your muddy stuff

Try Elizabeth's suggestion.

If that fails, quietly, without complaining, go and buy some new kit

Wash the new kit yourself and don't leave it in a muddy pile.

This is the UN Peacekeeping Forces suggestion for  the maintenance of harmony, any other approach is likely to result in months if not years of internecine strife.

That's right it starts with an earthquake
