We'll have to work out a really long walk for you Steve to burn off those carbs when you get back.!

Be good to catch up, although I can't promise any deer this time - perhaps if we have a word with Dave we can arrange for a few of those strange looking sheep with long necks.

Hi Ritchie,

I've pencilled this in.   Fingers crossed it won't be too ankle deep in mud ! (I'm currently using approach shoes for walking as I've yet to find a pair of boots which do not give me problems).

I will be in India from 11th Feb so will miss this walk as well as the one this weekend planned by sussexman9 which is a pity as these look like the only ones planned in Kent and Sussex at the moment, so I wish you good weather and hope to catch you on another walk in the near future,

Ok gang - here's the plan, meet at Sevenoaks Weald village green, opposite the Windmill Inn pub (TN14 6PN), there is free road parking around the green on Long Barn Road.

Suggest to meet at 9.45am for a 10.00am start.

The walk will take us across fields towards Bough Beech nature reservoir (binoculars anyone?), then a steady ascent to the village of Ide Hill for a drinks/lunch stop at the  Cocks Inn. (Bring packed lunch or the pub does the usual fayre). After lunch we head east along the high ground following the Greensand Ridge for some great views, before decending down back to the startpoint. Total distance will be around 9 miles with around 300metres of ascent - a nice and easy winter warmer!

Hope to see you there - as usual all welcome!

I did a recce Sunday and walked all around the south side of the Bough Beech reservoir, this route was mainly on metalled road and not as nice as I had hoped, so I've changed things around a bit and will avoid the south side of the water.  The views from high ground on hanging bank are always nice especially when you can look back at the ground you've covered. - Oh, and another thing, I saw several groups of wild deer in the wooded areas, around 18 or 20 all told, so fingers crossed we may see some more.

Richie, thanks for arranging this walk, apart from the damp weather, and the odd bit of mud it was a really good walk. I really did enjoy it. I think someone has got a thing about putting mud and swimming pools at kissing gates . Thanks also for Susexman and Walkinginsunshine for the good company today. I will post a few murky photo's on here later on. Jez, you really missed out on a good one today, hope to catch up with you soon.

Have now returned back from the February Meet and cleaned my boots off !  Great to see Dave again and nice to meet Walking In Sunshine and Ritchie.

Do you know, I got home today to find we hadn't had any rain at all here - typical lol

Thankyou Richie for organising todays walk,  it was so good to get out walking again after a lapse couple of months.  It was lovely to see you and Dave and to meet Sussexman for the first time too. 

Dave - those pics look pretty good considering the weather.

It's great to see the Kent meets turning into a regular thing too.  Here's hoping I can make the next one

I know Dave, it looks like you all had a fantastic time so I'm really pleased for you all.

But I ended up being double booked and went out today on the South Downs, doing an 18miler, so my legs got a bit of exercise as well.

I will definitely meet up with you all for a walk one day - it's simply about getting the timing right !!
