Due to being the most popular venue so far of people that stated a preference, Blackwater Hostel and Campsite at Kinlochleven has been selected as the destination for this meet.
The Hostel has been provisionally booked or held for us as sole occupancy use for the meet, at no cost for the next 2 weeks. This is to allow an audit of numbers who would like to stay at the hostel to ensure cost effectiveness. The 2 week grace period started on the 2nd July and when it expires, a credit card transaction to secure the sole use occupation will have to be made. The booking will be for the hostel only so campers will have to book through normal channels (see website).
The hostel details can be found on the attached link, but sleeps a maximum of 40 in rooms containing various numbers of bunks. The minimum sole occupancy is advertised as 30. The price of booking the hostel is £400 per night which equates to £10 pppn if full. I understand an arrangement between residents will be made at a later time to establish cooking and catering arrangements on a per person per day contribution. I suspect the sole use booking might be for 3 nights, Fri 24, Sat 25 and Sun 26 Oct.
To assist the collating of numbers and people wishing to be included, please add to the thread your wish to be included at the hostel. Please just make a post to informing us whether to add to the definate, provisional or camping list. Initial response was excellent for this venue, would people who previously stated intention of attendance earlier in the thread - please repeat their committment now that the hostel is provisionally booked. For new additions to the list, please read recent posts and contact It Must Be This Way by PM or he will contact you if your profile is not hidden), IMBTW is kindly doing the payment transaction and collecting £30 (or £10 pppn). If it's not obvious from your username or profile, please indicate male/female to assist room allocation (if possible). Please also indicate number of nights and dates as applicable.
There are also threads regarding transport to the meet, a possible minibus from south Wales, a possible minibus from Leicestershire travelling up M6 corridor, possible lifts (petrol sharing) from Weston-Super-Mare area and maybe others.
