What and where are the best walkers' pubs?
By nickigiles
Well, according to LFTO users last time we ran a survey there are 246, starting with the Arncliffe Arms in Glaisdale and ending with Ye Olde Trip to Jerusalem in Nottingham. You can find details of all 246 in the attached Excel spreadsheet, along with addresses, phone numbers and (where available) email addresses. And if you drink in any of these pubs this Easter you could win £500 of gear and a year's subscription to Trail! (Full details of the competition coming soon). Sup up!

The best walkers pub, is the first one you reach at the end of your walk.

Competition update
Owing to a mix-up at Primaloft's end there's a delay on the beermats hitting the pubs. They tell me they are now aiming to have all the mats in the pubs by the Easter weekend. Sorry for the inconvenience, and rest assured all the prizes will still be won. GUyP

I was initially a bit confused because the competition instructions referred to a list. OK, happy now that any on the list of Best Walkers Pubs, that we the readers submitted for all specified areas of the UK - is the actual list. So anyone can browse the list to find pubs in an area that suits them. That works for me but the xls version of the 246 pubs is only any good to someone with xls on their computer. We just got home from the Glencoe meet and the beermats were not available in the Clachaig (or Drovers Inn). I am going up to Fort William in a couple of weeks so might find them there, otherwise can we print off the beermat logo and post designs to you at trail?

I''m looking for a decent flask. I've tried several but they're not keeping warm for long even after pre-warming. I'm going om MT winter skills course in 5 weeks so need to get something good for then.
