I have trouble reading small print on maps – what can I do?

Well, one navigation expert reckons most people use their compass for the magnifying glass in the base plate so you’re not alone. Try the new Magnicard — looks like a credit card and fits in your wallet, but is actually a neat little magnifying glass. And if you fancy a bushtucker snack at lunch you can use it to focus sunlight and cook grubs. Yum. Plus, it comes with an LED light, so if you get lost on the hills you can still read your map in the dark. £4.99 from Boots, Woolworths, Robert Dyas and WHSmiths.
