How good is the bioflex system?
By Trail magazine
The Bioflex back system is used in the C7 range of Berghaus rucksacks. These are all large rucksacks with capacities from 65 to 90 litres. The Bioflex back system allows the hip belt to twist and flex with the movement of the user, rather than being rigidly attached to the backpack. The clever part of the design is that although the hip belt moves, the rucksack remains stable on your back as the Delrin rods link the hip belt to the rucksack. In Trail and Country Walking tests the C7 series of rucksacks have frequently gained high marks in reviews and have been voted best in test and best value. The bioflex system may not be liked by everyone, though, as the system does feel a little different to conventional rucksacks. Also the rucksacks are heavier than some options too.www.berghaus.com

My mate used one for a couple of years and it did nothing but SQUEEK constantly, he tried everything to stop it but nothing did, drove me nuts every time we were out together... but aside from that it is a good sack..

Jester! I put some WD40 on mine when it started to squeek! It solved the problem instantly.

It's a very good system. Not the most lightweight, but well thought out, user friendly and comfortable. The only problem is that the frame tends to SQUEEK quite annoyingly. If that could be sorted it would get 10 out of 10 from me.

How good are products like the Grivel Spider and Cotswold Magic Spiker and are they suitable for hill-walking?
