How does the Berghaus Axis jacket compare to the Mountain Equipment Morpheus jacket? And how does the Primus Eta-express rate along side the MSR reactor and the Jetboil?
By GrahamThompson
We have not reviewed the Berghaus Axis. It is a Gore Pro Shell jacket though and looks similar to the Mountain Equipment Morpheus jacket (click here for Morpheus review), with large chest pockets. So I would expect condensation control to be identical in each with only fit and personal preferences over pocket design and style to be factors when choosing between these two.The MSR Reactor is very efficient but has a high price tag and is slightly heavier than the JetBoil and Primus Eta Express, so this is my least favourite. The JetBoil and Primus ETA Express both are similar prices and performance, and it is hard to choose between them. The ETA Express has the advantage that the pan is a little broader and not so deep compared to the JetBoil, which means it is easier to cook food in the Eta Express. However if you just want a stove for a brew and to boil water for rehydrating food or for warmer a Wayfayrer meal in a bag, then the JetBoil is idea. For more info on the latest stove tests see the July 2008 issue of Trail magazine.

I''m looking for a decent flask. I've tried several but they're not keeping warm for long even after pre-warming. I'm going om MT winter skills course in 5 weeks so need to get something good for then.
