It depends where you're trekking – no for the Alps, yes for Tanzania. See the NHS website at www.fitfortravel.nhs.uk for a full list of recommended precautions by country. Remember it can take months to get them all, especially as some jabs can't be given simultaneously, so allow plenty of time. Start with your local GP, but shop around — prices vary widely.
