How long does it take to walk the Tour du Mont Blanc?

Answer

By Anonymous

Set aside 7-10 days for the grand old TMB. Its circular course takes the intrepid walker in a vast loop around the Mont Blanc massif, straddling the border of three nations. It’s usually walked anti-clockwise in the and the highest point is the Col des Fours, 2,665m, where the dome of Mont Blanc towers before the awestruck hiker. It’s also worth considering the Chamonix-Zermatt trail, linking the foot of Mont Blanc with the Matterhorn.

10 days or 11 if walking every step, 7-8 if you use a few ski lifts and a bus from Courmayer to roadhead by Elena hut. Depends how much time you've got really.

Very busy though - Stubia Hut route is higher and more peaceful but a bit more challenging - about 10 days.

Tour de la Vanoise - about 8 days - very quiet and in a real National Park - no disruptions, ski lifts, bikes etc

This is a late comment but I'm placing it here anyway to save someone the pain of having to do the research. All the Tour du Mont Balnc stuff is at www.walkingthetmb.com , lots of info and without the advertising.
