Can anyone recommend a self catering cottage in the Black Mountains please? Thanks.
By Country Walking magazine
At least one member of the LFTO team rates the Brecon Beacons as their top walking destination - from the Black Mountain (singular) in the west to the Black Mountains (plural) in the east. We asked our contacts lucky enough to live in the National Park and they recommend Brecon Beacons Holiday Cottages. They have over 300 properties on their books, covering the entire area. In the Black Mountains properties range from a farmhouse sleeping 14 near Hay-on-Wye to a cosy wing for two people at Painscastle - so you should be able to find what you need. And a couple of eating recommendations too - in Hay, try Xtreme Organix for the best burgers and Shepherd's for amazing ice-cream. And the Felin Fach Griffin is a cosy pub with great food on the Hay-Brecon road.

I would heartily recommend Pure Holiday Homes for some more really nice self catering cottages in the area, and of course globally. It's free to use and pretty comprehensive, and the best thing is being able to see all the cottage locations on the map so you can browse to a nearby one. Hope that's some help!

I recommend www.yewtrees.co.uk Its a traditional country cottage on the actual blackhill itself. Giving perfect access for walking and climbing the whole blackmountain range.

Yes try www.black-mountains-cottages.co.uk Two beautiful cosy, stone cottages at the foot of Gaer Mountain - direct access to the Llanthony Ridge from the cottage door. Walkers paradise. You can read all about it on the website. Enjoy!
