How do I stay fresh in the wilds?

Answer

By Anonymous

Hot baths are just a dream, but hygiene is crucial. Always clean hands after a toilet stop — water can be limited and shouldn't be polluted with soap, so try Life Systems Dry Wash £4.99, which kills bugs then evaporates. Or try baby wipes, but they do create rubbish which all needs packing out.

And keep clothes fresh — old sweat doesn’t just whiff, it irritates the skin. Turn garments inside-out and air or rinse. If full-on washing, take water away from the stream and drain through soil once used. And try woollen kit, as even after days of sweltering it smells fresh as a daisy. Well, almost.

There are two approaches to this, you either wash a bit of the sweat off in any available stream or pond, or you just face it that after four days roughing it you're going to pong, even if you are unaware until your family tell you. Hope this helps.
